Today's planetary update

Date: 4th May 2010

The Sun and Earth have now moved into the Incarnation Cross of the Sphinx, kicking off the Quarter of Civilisation with the 1st Lines of Gate/hexagrams 1 and 2, bringing into play an energy for creating foundations to build and create from. This transit also puts a big focus onto the direction life is going in, and there will be a pressure to tap into the deep creative yin force within and bring it out into the world in the form of something beautiful. Also timing is everything, as creation is independent of will and self expression has its own special timing. Plus through intuition comes sensitivity to life's disharmony and atrophy, which is all about seeing the importance of aesthetics whether inborn or acquired, as higher knowing will come through aesthetics. The notself will be unstable, distorting everything, ignoring wisdom in favour of the ego.

The Moon is in Gate 54 ‘ambition', bringing the focus onto interaction in its mundane social context, and also ones mystical and cosmic relationships. This is the archetype of the marrying maiden, the concubine who rose up the hierarchy to become empress. At 12:25pm she moves into Gate 61' mystery', bringing the focus to inner truth and the awareness of universal underlying principles. There will be a pressure to find knowing that fuels unique inspiration, and the only potential for inner truth is silence. Then at 11:37pm she moves into Gate 60 ‘acceptance', bringing the focus onto the acceptance of limitation being the first step in transcendence. There can be a strong pressure to mutate, like the caterpillar turning into a butterfly, which is an unknowable process until it is complete and the knowing becomes available.

Mercury retrogrades into the 3rd Line of Gate 27 ‘greed' at 4:54pm bringing reviewed communication around the obsession with having more than one needs, and this is not an unhealthy greed as it can be likened to the squirrel hoarding more nuts than it needs at that time, so that it has enough food to last out the whole year. There can also be an obsession or dependency on whatever is hidden. The notself will lust for power.

Venus moves into Gate 35 ‘change' at 11:59pm, shifting the energy onto values and worth in relation to change, where by design, progress cannot exist in a vacuum and is dependent on interaction. This is an experiential energy, accumulating experience and then once the experience is over, there can be a strong appetite for change, it is time for something new, or boredom can set in.
