Today's planetary update

Date: 3rd August 2010

Today the Sun and Earth are making their way through the 4th Lines of Gates/hexagrams 33 and 19 bringing a theme of opportunities coming out of friendship. And ‘dignity' is in the air today, and comes through recognising the lack of turmoil found in retreat. This also brings an underlying faith in understanding resurrection that turns retreat into a logical opportunity for renewal and regeneration. Plus ‘the team player' is grounding us today, and this is the fuel for individual approach which attracts and accepts cooperation and support. There is also power and energy for outward activity and the ability to accept others as long as they can keep up. This is about recognising how this driving force can in turn benefit the whole group, and is based in the energy to seek out and exalt in the company of others in the community. The notself will degenerate and be dissatisfied with the contribution of others.

The Moon is now moving through Gate 24 ‘rationalising' bringing movement and focus to ‘returning' and this is about the recognition of the natural and spontaneous process of individual transformation and renewal that ultimately results in empowerment. Here there is a pressure to conceptualise knowing and inspiration in an individual way, so that this unique awareness can be given a rational meaning ready for communication. And this involves pondering, turning the inspiration over and over, until the unknown becomes known. At 7:42pm she will shift into Gate 2 ‘higher knowing' bringing the focus onto ‘the receptive' generating a deep receptivity as the primal base through which any response is determined, and this knowing is the root of all action. This is a deep and empowering receptivity, arising from the most yin of all the Gates which brings unique direction in life, and leads to self love and expression of identity. An archetype for this would be what the ancients would have referred to as the higher self.

Saturn has now moved into the 4th Line of Gate 46 ‘impact' bringing abstract constraint to the ability, once sensed and recognised, to move rapidly from a position of obscurity to one of influence. This is most often seen as the good luck which comes from being determined, so that eventually, when in the right place at the right time love, direction and identity are recognised. The notself will bite the hand that feeds it.
