Today's planetary update

Date: 20th March 2010

Time: 9:30am Aust. EDT / GMT +11hrs(note: this is Australian time, so if you are in another country check your time zones)

Today starts out with the Sun and Earth in the 2nd Lines of Gates/Hexagrams 25 and 46, bringing an energy of shyness, which can become boldness if the timing is right. There could be some prima donna behaviour on display today, where someone with a difficult and demanding nature succeeds despite their behaviour because of the depth of their natural talents, often accompanied by a determination to succeed that may offend others. Also existentialism is in the air, and this is about being devoted and dedicated to the now, simply perfecting the intellect through concentration and focus on what is, rather than on what could be or has been. The true innocence of the Self can only be maintained in the now, and this is the ultimate protection. The notself will be full of unrealistic demands, displaying an offensive nature and egocentric mediocrity, wanting to be treated as a success way before it happens. Innocence is lacking, and protection is lost through projection.

At 4:32am on the 21st we have the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the Autumnal Equinox here in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun will be directly over the equator, making the day and night nearly equal in length, and marking the cycle of the seasons, and this is always when the Sun is in the 25th Gate.

The Moon is in Gate 2 ‘higher knowing', the most Yin Hexagram of the I'Ching, where receptivity is a primal base through which any response is determined and can then be the root of all action. This also brings a flair for innovative guidance, through an inherent alignment for where something or someone needs to go. Then at 2:58pm she moves into Gate 23 ‘assimilation', bringing the energy of amorality, with the awareness and understanding which leads to the acceptance of diversity. There is also the potential to express individual insights that inject new and innovative ways of thinking into society, or on the flip side this is the outsider whose expression can be totally out of place and socially inappropriate.

Mercury has moved into Gate 17 ‘opinions', where it's all about communication and following the ancient law that those who wish to rule must first know how to serve. This transit will see a lot of projection into the future, looking for a reliable pattern to turn the solutions to any doubts into concepts, ready to be expressed. There can be fear over being challenged on these concepts and anxiety that there is not enough detail to back the concepts up.

Venus and her high standards has moved into Gate 51 meeting up with the Sun in Gate 25, forming the Channel of Initiation, this is real warrior spirit energy, happily walking the path alone, leaping empty handed into the void, risking all to experience the wonder of their own unique spirit. On the mystical level, this is the Channel of the Shaman/priest, initiating others into the mysteries of spirit. At the Mundane level this is a deeply competitive energy, loving to be first.

Remember that I am describing conditioning themes brought by the planets, they are like the weather, passing through and you don't have to be influenced by them, you can use or ignore them to best advantage by following your Strategy and Inner Authority. Enjoy the ride! It's your life!
