Today's planetary update

Date: 18th April 2010

Today the Sun and Earth are in the 2nd Lines of gates/hexagrams 3 and 50, bringing an energy for being absorbed in whatever you love until the timing is right to share it. Immaturity is in the air, where there can be unrestrained acceptance of guidance, plus there is unrelenting energy and potential for growth that can eventually triumph, and maybe even bring something completely new. Plus there is the determination and strength of purpose to enjoy overcoming adversity, all the while maintaining ones values in the face of opposition or conditioning. The notself will be unstable, accepting and rejecting simultaneously, uncomfortable with adversity, lacking strength and withdrawing.

We start the day with the Moon in Gate 16 ‘enthusiasm', bringing a focus onto the great art of enriching life by the harmonic channelling of energy, and when the right others are involved talent can manifest. This can be creative talent, or more often than not it can be a talent for life and living with enthusiasm. At 12:37pm she moves into Gate 35 ‘progress', bring the focus onto the fact that progress cannot exist in a vacuum and is always dependent on interaction. And this is cyclical energy, requiring beginnings, middles and ends, and through these cycles being fulfilled in a healthy way, the appetite for change can be satiated, and experiential talents may even develop. Then at 10:39pm she moves into Gate 45 ‘the gatherer', bringing the focus to the naturally and generally beneficial attraction of like forces. This is a strong material position, concerned with the material wellbeing of not just the individual, but the tribe or family, as when there is enough food, shelter and love for everyone, peace reigns.

Mars has now moved into Gate 33 ‘privacy', bringing a maturing and mutative energy to making an active withdrawal which can lead to the transformation of a weak position into a strength. And the 1st Line is being activated which is all about having the wisdom, when in a weak position to recognise that survival demands complete withdrawal. This is about knowing that retreating when in a weak position is a show of inner strength. The notself will be foolishly courageous.

Mercury turns retrograde at 2.06pm in Gate 24, Line 6, 3rd Colour, slowing and intensifying the energy around the natural and spontaneous process of transformation and renewal. It may feel like old ground is being covered again, which is a perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy and absorb what was missed on the first time round, and who knows, the gift horse may just be discovered. There will be a lot of talk about power, and who has it and who doesn't, and maybe some perceptions of power will be transformed.
